The Spinal flow Technique
The healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening — a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation.
—Peter Levine
Spinal Flow Therapy is a gentle modality that supports optimal nervous system function and allows the body to access its innate healing abilities.
The Spinal Flow Technique® cues the body to locate and release blockages in the spine caused by chemical, physical, and emotional stress and trauma.
This is done by making gentle contact with specific points along the spine and cranium which prompts an electrophysiological phenomenon known as the spinal flow or spinal wave.
The spinal wave develops in three phases:
Phase 1 — Perception
Ability to perceive the current of energy in the spine and
Phase 2 — Breath
Respiratory motion through the spine
Phase 3 — Movement
Developing an undulating wave-like motion in the spine
Spinal Flow Therapy awakens the body's innate intelligence, helping you shift from survival mode into a more empowered, coherent, and aligned state of being.
This therapy helps your nervous system recognize where it's stuck in old patterns — patterns of tension, defense, or disconnection — and allows you to let go of what no longer serves you.
FAQs
-
Spinal Flow Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that helps the body reconnect with its natural ability to heal and self-regulate.
Using light touch on specific points along the spine, it supports the release of stored stress held in the body—whether from physical tension, emotional overwhelm, or chemical imbalances.
-
A Spinal Flow session is gentle, grounding, and deeply restorative. You'll lie fully clothed on a massage table while I use light touch on specific points along your spine. These areas help the nervous system locate and release stored stress, without the need for force or manipulation.
As your body responds, you may notice various sensations—warmth, tingling, or subtle (and sometimes spontaneous) movements like rocking, twitching, or stretching. These are natural signs that your nervous system is beginning to unwind.
Emotional release can also occur. Some people feel waves of emotion, such as sadness, relief, or even joy, as stored tension and unresolved experiences begin to surface and release. This is all part of the healing process, and it's welcomed in a safe, supportive environment.
Each session is unique, and your experience may change over time as deeper layers of stress are accessed. The process is always guided by your body’s own intelligence, allowing healing to unfold naturally and at your own pace.
-
Spinal Flow is designed to support every body—because every nervous system can benefit from releasing stored stress and reconnecting with ease. Whether you're experiencing physical symptoms, emotional overwhelm, or just feel disconnected from your body, this gentle approach can help.
That said, the best results tend to come when you're open to the process and committed to your healing journey. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to show up, be consistent, and trust that change is possible. Spinal Flow works with your body’s innate intelligence, and the more you’re able to meet it with curiosity and patience, the more profound the transformation can be.
-
True healing is a process—not a one-time event.
While a single Spinal Flow session can offer immediate shifts, lasting transformation unfolds over time with consistency of care. Each session builds on the last, allowing deeper layers of stress and stored trauma to release—gently and naturally.
Through regular sessions, the body begins to remember what it feels like to live in ease, not just during the session, but in everyday life.
Each person’s healing journey is unique.
While some may feel profound changes after just one session, for others, it may take several before noticeable shifts occur. We can't predict or control how many sessions it will take—healing unfolds at the pace your body is ready for. The most important thing is to honor that process with patience, trust, and consistency.
-
Every body responds differently—and that’s completely okay. Movement is just one way the nervous system can express release, but it’s not the only sign that healing is happening.
Some people experience visible movements, while others may feel more subtle shifts—like warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or emotional release. Even if your body appears still, powerful changes can be occurring beneath the surface.
Spinal Flow meets your body exactly where it is. There’s no “right” way to respond. Trust that your nervous system is working in the way that’s best for you in that moment—and with continued sessions, your experience may naturally evolve.
